German based Satellite Service Provider announced today the closure of a multi-year contract with the Teleport Operator Juch-Tech Inc. From Canada to deliver a broadband Hub and space segment on Intelsat 1R.

The Service is based on ViaSat Linkstar Technology with state of the art DVB-S2 standard in Ku-Band and is covering West Africa with 50 dBW. The service can be used with a 1,2m or 1,8m dish and is designed for corporate users, cyber cafes and government sector. The network has a capacity of up to 1,000 links.

Skyway.Net received a very positive echo for such a service at the ComBIT show in October this year in Lagos and decided to close the contract and secure all available capacity. The service will be marketed under the brand name of „afri sat“ starting in January 2009. Juch Tech Inc. From Hamilton Canada was chosen because of their leading edge technology, Tier 1 Internet connectivity, round the clock customer support, the vast experience with Hub colocation and broadband services in Africa, like FOB Sky.
